Jamaica Football Federation would allow some vaccinated spectators to enter the stadium. The Federation would be giving their decision after asking permission from the Government of Jamaica.

The planning is being done for the coming match on October 10 inside the National Stadium in Kingston. A release shows that the local governing body of football is ready with their decision while partnering with the Government. They both would be promoting the agenda that people should get vaccinated to fight against COVID-19. Jamaica’s senior men’s team has already played three matches this month of the final qualification phase for Qatar 2022.

The release said, “The JFF will be making representation to the relevant authorities for permission to allow spectators into a fraction of the capacity of the stadium. However, the proposal to the Government is for interested persons to show proof of full vaccination for attendance. The JFF has indicated to the Government its willingness to partner with it in promoting the need for the population to get vaccinated.”

The mode of payment and price of tickets will be made public once the Government grant the permission.

In next month’s FIFA window, Jamaica would also be facing the United States in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, October 7. After that would be entertaining Canada on October 10. After that, they would be playing away to Honduras in San Pedro Sula on Wednesday, October 13.

Jamaica is at the bottom of the eight team points with a single point. This after losing their first two encounters, 1-2 away to Mexico at the Azteca 0-3 at home to Panama. The Reggae Boyz earned their only a point in San Jose, with a 1-1 result against Costa Rica.

Mexico is leading the tournament with seven points. The US, Panama, and Canada are in second with five points. Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador each has two points.
