Jamaica secured third sport in the medal tally of World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest. Commencing on August 19, 2023, the games bring the athletes together and will end on August 27, 2023.

Jamaica: Jamaica secured third sport in the medal tally of World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest. Commencing on August 19, 2023, the games bring the athletes together and will end on August 27, 2023.

While winning total eight medals, the team of Jamaica finished at the third position with their performance in the end of the sixth day of the world athletics championship. The authorities also announced the medal table.

  • Gold: Jamaica won two gold medals in the championship.
  • Silver: Three silvers are added into the medal tally of the championship.
  • Bronze: Three bronze medal were secured by the team of Jamaica in Budapest 2023.

Gold Medals of Jamaica:

  • 8 years after her first World Athletics Champs gold medal, Danielle Williams strikes golden glory again in the Women’s 100m hurdles.
  • Sprinter 21-year-old Antonio Watson becomes the second Jamaican in history to win the Men’s 400 World title.

Bronze Medals of Jamaica:

  • Team Jamaica’s Tajay Gayle saved his best for the last round and cliched bronze in the Men’s Long Jump Final. Gayle wins bronze with 8.27m.
  • Another bronze for Team Jamaica was secured by Russel Clayton. She was also 2019 World Champs Bronze Medallist who ran to a personal best in the Women’s 400m hurdles final to place third once again.
  • Jamaican sprinting Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished third and clinched bronze in a season best of World Athletics Championships.

Silver Medals of Jamaica:

  • The world leader, Wayne Pinnock secured silver for Jamaica in the Men’s Long Jump final of World Athletics Championships. He was in the gold medal spot and set in motion an amazing night for its team.
  • Jamaican sprinting Shericka Jackson secured second spot and wins silver medal in the championship at Budapest 2023.
