Castries, St Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre held a discussion with Dr Cato Laurencin, who is an independent honour recipient of an annual event named Investiture Ceremony, which is scheduled to be held on March 20, 2022, in St Lucia, to share his experiences, achievements and knowledge with the residents of the country on Friday, March 18, 2022.
Prime Minister Pierre referred to it as the promise made by the party in their manifesto during the election. He noted, “It was stated on page 29 of the Saint Lucia Labour Party manifesto.”
PM Pierre further stated that they have promised with St Lucians to invite the people of the country in Diaspora back home so that they could share their knowledge achievements to create awareness and inspiration for the young generation of St Lucia.
Outlining, the importance of the Diasporans, PM of St Lucia, affirmed, “We will invite highly skilled and distinguished Saint Lucians in the Diaspora back home to share their knowledge, achievements and experiences, as part of an annual event, to inspire and motivate our young as it was stated in our manifesto”.
The discussion has been based on various aspects such as sustainable development of St Lucia, climate change, more participation of the young generation in the growth of the country.
PM Pierre further hailed Dr Laurencin for being honoured with the Independence 43 award and also highlighted its significance.
He reiterated that presenting the Independence 43 honour to Dr Cato Laurencin signals the intent of sharing his experience. The honour could be able to use the greatest resource, human resource, to develop St Lucia.
“Bestowing this Independence 43 honour to Dr Cato Laurencin signals this intent; to utilize our greatest resource, our human resource, to find solutions for the sustainable development of our country”, underscored PM Pierre.
He again congratulated Dr Launrencin and expressed his pleasure in celebrating with all other awardees at the Investiture Ceremony.
PM Pierre emphasized, “Congratulations once again to Dr Laurencin, and I look forward to celebrating with all the other awardees at the Investiture Ceremony, which will be held on Sunday, March 20. The event will be aired live on NTN”.
