As the Independence celebrations are currently going on in St Kitts and Nevis for the 41st anniversary, the National Heros Day honoured the five unsung heroes who fought for the lives of the Kittitians and Nevisians.

The annual event welcomed the leaders to discuss potential growth in trade, emerging sectors, and the new opportunities to be brought by green carbon development and digital technologies to China Caribbean Cooperation.

Barbados Royals stood at the top position in the points table after winning four out of the five matches so far in the tournament.

Premier Mark Brantley appreciated him for his legacy and referred to him as the “unsung hero of Nevis Island.”

At the ceremony, government officials including Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Denzil Douglas, Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley, and other members of the federation along with their spouses, were present.

Kirani James who ran in the men’s 400m race clocked a time of 44.63 seconds ending up getting second with a mere difference of 0.14 seconds.
