St Kitts and Nevis: Adding fuel to the political turmoil in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris showed his full commitment to the concept of Team Unity. The announcement has been during his address to the nation.
While expressing commitment, PM Harris stated that Unity actually belongs to the people, not to their leaders. He noted, “I remain fully committed to the Unity concept, and no action I Take or decision I make, even if it displaces one or both of you, will be intended to damage Unity.”
He further said that he would not compromise by doing anything which is unconstitutional, unlawful, or not in the best interest of the people of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis just to say in power.
Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris exclaimed, “I do not seek to have elections before they are constitutionally due, but if it becomes necessary, I am willing to abide by and support the will of the people as demonstrated by the election results, whatever they may be.”
PM Harris emphasized that everyone should be guided by the thought that Unity belongs to the people of St Kitts and Nevis, not to their leaders and if we desert their expectations and they should not be surprised if they remain with Unity even if their leaders do not.”
Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, in his monthly edition of leadership matters, also outlined that the Homicides are at a 20 Plus year low- Detection at 20 years High.
PM Harris on Homicide stated that Homicide is the most egregious of all crimes. It is now at a 2- Plus year low. “We have achieved the best crime detection rate in over 20 years last years.”
Prime Minister also emphasized that the Team Unity administration is delivering on its commitment to keep people safe.
“Success in crime-fighting is a result of substantial investment in the security infrastructure. This includes building new and renovating other police stations, defence force and coast guard facilities; investing heavily in its CCTV monitoring system; providing an adequate supply of vehicles; and the construction and build-out of a Forensic Laboratory,” PM Harris added.
