Health Ministry recommissions X-Ray services at Princess Royal Hospital in Grenada

Outlining the benefits of the facility at the Hospital, the government stated that the medical facility would help every Hospital at the Princess Royal Hospital to access the timely diagnosis and quicker implementation of treatment plans.

Grenada: The Ministry of Health of Grenada declared that they have officially recommissioned X-Ray services at the Princess Royal Hospital in Carriacou on Friday, March 18, 2022. The government of Grenada has officially announced the re-launch of the X-Ray services at the Hospital and stated that the measures had been taken after 29 years.  

The statement of the government of Grenda noted, “After 29 years, today, the Ministry of Health officially recommissioned X-Ray services at the Princess Royal Hospital in Carriacou”.

Outlining the benefits of the facility at the Hospital, the government stated that the medical facility would help every Hospital at the Princess Royal Hospital to access the timely diagnosis and quicker implementation of treatment plans. 

Moreover, it would also facilitate the hospital staff to improve the outcomes of the patients. 

“This means that medical practitioners at the Princess Royal Hospital will now be able to have timely diagnoses, quicker implementation of treatment plans and improved patient outcomes,” the statement of the government of Grenada reads. 

Moreover, the patients will no longer be transferred to the mainland with the help of the facility, and it would be benefited minor and none emergency patients.

It highlighted, “No longer will patients have to be transferred to the mainland, Grenada for x-ray services especially minor and none emergency patients”. 

As per the reports, when the instalments of the brand new x-ray machine were completed, more than 95 x-rays were done at the Princess Royal Hospital, which gives a clear indication of the dire need for the service in Carriacou and Petite Martinique. 

Besides this, a brand new ultrasound and i-STAT blood test machine was also installed at the Hospital. 

While expressing gratitude, Health Minister noted, “On behalf of the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique, I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. George’s University, Ministry of Health and the Grenada COVID-19 Crisis Group for this wonderful gesture”.
