St Vincent and the Grenadines: The Health Ministry of Saint Vincent reviewing the case of the murder of a patient, who was already a shooting victim, in the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in Kingstown, the capital of the island nation, on the night of Tuesday, 19 March, around 11:30 pm.

The deceased was a patient admitted to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, Kingstown, and getting treatment. The name of the victim is disclosed to be Connel Jack. Jack was a 26-year-old man who was already a victim of the shooting attack on Sunday, 17 March. He was getting treatment for the gunshot wounds he was suffering from.

As per the reports, there are no casualties or injuries to the staff and other patients reported in the hospital due to the incident of murder except the death of the victim. Anyhow, the information of two suspects being taken into police custody on Wednesday is reported in the case for now.

The health ministry of the nation released a statement on the murder case of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in Kingstown in which they praised the works of staff who were able to save other patients in the hospital.

Ministry said, “We want to commend the brave work of the team of healthcare workers on duty during this incident who remained focused on saving lives and the well-being of our patients.”

The Health Ministry also mentioned about the support of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, who instantly took charge of the incident and took charge to provide security and safety to the premises.

Health Ministry mentioned, “The ministry commits to reviewing the security measures currently in place at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and our other facilities in Kingstown and around the nation with a view to the implementation of additional measures identified to be necessary.”

In the statement, the Health Ministry of the nation also mentioned about the steps taken by the authorities to recover the situation caused by the crime on the premises of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in Kingstown.

With the betterment in security protocols, authorities are also providing additional treatment for the health and mental betterment of the patients, who suffered the threat on the day of the murder in the hospital, with psycho-social teams.

At the end of the statement, the Health Ministry asked the citizens of Kingston and the island nation for their support to maintain the stable situation in the country by creating panic free environment.

The ministry said that the authorities are constantly working to create a safe and reliable environment for continuously providing healthcare facilities.
