Guyana to launch finals of Caribbean Premier League, announces Prez Ali

The Government of Guyana has decided to launch the finals of the most loved Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for three consecutive years. The finals will be started this year, that is, the year 2022.

Guyana: The Government of Guyana has decided to launch the finals of the most loved Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for three consecutive years. The finals will be started this year, that is, the year 2022.  

The announcement was made by the President of Guyana Dr. Irfaan Ali, on the night of Wednesday, March 30, 2022, and stated that the country would host the next three finals of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). 

The Hero CPL final will be held at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence on Friday, September 30.

President Irfaan Ali announced tonight that Guyana would host the next three finals of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), while he bowled off “the greatest event in the region,” Cricket Carnival 2022.

The 2022 CPL would be unique in Guyana, the Head of State said, and will include two weeks of activities that will fuse sports and culture while bridging the Caribbean with South America.

He said that Guyana would also host a battle of the best carnival bands, including many from the Caribbean, Miami, and even Brazil.

Plans will also be in place to host a regional food festival, have a regional concert, an international concert, and a Guyana Night.

To get spectators to the September 2022 event, plans are also in the pipeline to host a CPL Cruise to Guyana.

The tournament will be hosted by Guyana for the first time, and Hero CPL will be finally played in the country. The long-term staging arrangement will witness the completion of the match that will be taken place in Guyana in 2023 and 2024. 

The economy of Guyana faces a bolster, and the country has a great reputation as a tourism destination for those who want to experience untouched natural beauty. The Hero CPL will further expose the great country to an audience across the globe in both 2021 and 2021, which is the cumulative viewership for Hero CPL, surpassed 500 million.
