Guyana: President of Guyana Irfaan Ali attended a reception in honour of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Peace Corps 60th Anniversary at the US Ambassador’s Residence on the East Coast of Demerara on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
While informing about the meeting, the office of the President through his Facebook Post stated, “Dr Irfaan Ali attended a reception in honour of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Peace Corps 60th Anniversary at the US Ambassador’s Residence on the East Coast of Demerara”.
The President of Guyana further congratulated the agencies for achieving their milestone and noted that the Government of Guyana is presenting huge congratulations to the agency.
Moreover, he also applauded the agencies for working tirelessly toward progress over the decades.
The office of the President of Guyana emphasised that “The President congratulated the agencies on reaching their milestones and lauded their progress over the decades”.
Further, President Irfaan Ali also addressed the event and outlined various important aspects of their strategic partnerships.
While lauding the agency, he said they’ve worked for the progress ad development and also highlighted the essential factors of success.
During his speech, he also focused on the importance of strategic partnerships, which he said were essential for success.
Earlier, Last August, the Government signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Peace Corps.
Further, the office of the President also highlighted various new frameworks in the progress of the matters related to climate change, conservation of the water and preservation of the environment.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Guyana and the agency will also place greater emphasis on promoting environmental preservation and stewardship in the work of Peace Corps volunteers.
President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, announced that he is promising that his Government will provide treated and purified water to the people who live along the coast of the country by 2025.
Irfaan Ali stated by 2025, 100 percent of residents at the coast area of Guyana would be able to get the treated water for drinking and for various other matters.
While announcing, the office of the President, through his Facebook Post, cited, “Dr Irfaan Ali promised that by 2025, 100 percent of residents along the coast would have access to treated water”.
