Guyana: Prez Ali attends panel disscussion of Global Business Leadership Forum

President Dr Irfaan Ali participated in a virtual panel discussion on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive at the Office of the President on Monday, April 4, 2022. The panel discussion has been organized by the Global Business Leadership Forum.

President of Guyana Irfaan Ali attended the panel discussion with the various delegations virtually and discussed further ways to strengthen diplomatic relations and also outlined substantial aspects of Chanderpaul Drive. 

Further, the panel discussion has featured various panelists who have touched on significant matters of exchanges ad concern. They also talked about the developmental agendas related to the small island nations such as the Caribbean region.

The forum was chaired by Deodat Maharaj, Executive Director of the Caribbean Export Development Agency, and was moderated by Rhonda Binda, Vice President, Government Affairs and Social Impact, Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corporation, and Gary Mar, President and CEO of the Canada West Foundation.

President of Guyana Irfaan Ali also outlined several concerns, such as the national development of Guyana. He said that the Government is planning for strategic measures related to the upliftment of the economic growth of the country. The Government of Guyana is making efforts to create various business opportunities for young entrepreneurs. 

President Ali spoke extensively about regionalism and pointed out that it is a fundamental pillar of the national development of Guyana. He stated that the Government is planning for the development of several sectors such as agriculture, business, etc.

 He also expounded on Guyana’s economic potential and his Government’s plans for developing and modernizing the various sectors.

Various delegations of the Government of Guyana have also joined President Ali in the panel discussion. 

Senior Minister in the Office of the President of Guyana with responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh; Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond; Foreign Secretary, Robert Persaud and CEO of Go-Invest, Dr Peter Ramsaroop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd; were also a part of the discussions.
