President Irfaan Ali visited the floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), Liza Unity, today and engaged with workers, including the Guyanese staff on board.

Guyana: President Irfaan Ali visited the floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), Liza Unity, today and engaged with workers, including the Guyanese staff on board.

The Head of State, who was given a tour of the facility by the President of ExxonMobil Guyana, Alistair Routledge, was accompanied by the Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Vickram Bharrat and the Director of Projects at the Office of the President, Mrs Marcia Nadir-Sharma.

President Irfaan Ali was briefed on the operations of the ultra-deepwater drillship Noble Tom Madden, during a site visit yesterday.

The Noble Tom Madden drillship arrived offshore Guyana in October 2018. The 752 ft vessel was contracted by ExxonMobil Guyana to undertake exploration activities in the 6.6 million acres Stabroek Block.

Earlier in the day, President Ali also toured the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, Liza Unity, and engaged with the crew, including Guyanese workers, on board.

President Irfaan Ali today met with representatives from Embraer Brazil, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial and executive aircraft, with substantial and growing operations in defence and security.

The company representatives included its Vice President, Mr Fabio Henrique Caparica Santos and Business Development Director, Mr Alfredo Roberto Junior. They were accompanied by the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Guyana, Her Excellency Maria Clara Duclos Carisio.

President Ali was joined by the Senior Minister within the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, the Honourable Dr Ashni Singh and National Security Advisor, Captain Gerry Gouveia.
