Guyana: President Irfaan Ali becomes a Dad on Father's Day
Guyana: President of Guyana- Irfaan Ali, welcomed his second baby on the occasion of Father’s Day (Sunday, June 18, 2023). The new baby was born 16 minutes after midnight, and he was named Ilan.
Ilan’s birth marks a significant milestone as the first baby born to a sitting President and First Lady in Guyana. In a heartfelt message, President Ali expressed his gratitude and excitement, extending warm words of welcome to Ilan on behalf of his wife Arya, their eldest son Zayd, and himself.
The President conveyed his appreciation to the nurses, doctors, and all those who provided support during the delivery at the Balwant Singh Hospital in Georgetown, Guyana.
“We thank his caregivers for their dedicated service and the unwavering support they have provided on this journey. Our prayers are for Ilan’s good health and for his life to be a blessing to everyone he encounters. May God almighty guide and protect him. We are truly thankful for this precious blessing,” President Ali’s message read.
While welcoming his new baby, President Irfaan Ali said Arya, Zayd, and he would like to welcome the newest member of their family, Baby Ilan Ali, who entered this world at 00:16 today, Sunday, June 18, at the Balwant Singh Hospital in Georgetown, Guyana.
He said, “We thank his nurses, doctors and all those who supported his journey here. We pray for his good health, and may his life be a blessing to everyone who encounters him. May God almighty guide and protect him. We give God thanks for this blessing.”
President Irfaan Ali and Arya Ali also received greetings and wishes for welcoming new family members. One of the citizens named, Shanaz Jhingree, said, “Best Father’s Day gift, and we share something in common our son, too, was born Father days on 17 June at New Amsterdam hospital – what a Father’s Day gift.”
Another citizen named Rufina Ernest said, “Best Father’s day. Happy Father’s day mister president and congrats to you and the first lady. Blessings.”
