Guyana: President of Guyana Mohammad Irfaan Ali mourned the sudden demise of former Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) Justice Cecil Kennard on the early morning of Saturday, March 12, 2022, at about 2 am at the age of 86.

While expressing his sadness and grief, Prime Minister Irfaan Ali stated, “I am saddened to learn of the passing of former Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) Justice Cecil Kennard on the early morning of Saturday, March 12, 2022, at about 2 am at the age of eighty-six (86)”. 

He further outlined his contribution in the field of advocacy and stated that the contribution of Justice Kennard to the country called Guyana and his contribution is nothing, but it has a short of extraordinary and noting, “Justice Kennard’s contribution to Guyana is nothing but short of extraordinary of doing work”.

While highlighting his effortless work and stating his relentless, tireless and unwavering work in the Judiciary, his effortless work has improved the government of Guyana, which has further created a great Guyana for all of us.

President Irfaan Aly stated, “He’s relentlessly and hard work in the Judiciary and worked to improving the governance of the country has created a better Guyana and uplift the sector at huge pace for all of the people of the country”.

While extending farewell to the Justice, he affirmed that every person of Guyana has to commit with themselves to do best for the future development of Guyana. He reiterated, “As we say farewell to the great soul of Guyana, let us recommit in his honour, to do our very best to the further development of Guyana.

In the end, he paid tribute to Justice Kennard and condolences to his family and noted, “On behalf of the Government and people of Guyana, we express our condolences to his family and assure you of our prayers and thoughts. May his soul Rest In Peace”.
