Grenada: The Government of Grenada announced the expansion of the ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ž ๐“๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž Policy and included all the citizens and permanent residents of the country.ย 

While releasing a press release, the Government of Grenada said that the significant update to the framework for the ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ž ๐“๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž Policy, making higher education more accessible to all citizens and permanent residents of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Further to the press release dated July 6 โ€“ โ€˜๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐€๐œ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐„๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐“๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐…๐ž๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐“๐€๐Œ๐‚๐‚ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐„๐–๐‹๐Ž ๐’๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌโ€™, the ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ก๐š๐ฌ๐ž of the Free Tuition Programme will include the following:ย 

  • The first phase will now be included all individuals who are citizens or permanent residents of the State of Grenada.ย 
  • These individuals should meet the entry requirements for their chosen institution (TAMCC or NEWLO) and programme and have not attended either institution in the past.
  • It will provide enhanced opportunities to individuals seeking to pursue their higher education.ย 

The government of Grenada asserted that the update to the framework for the Free Tuition Programme marked their commitment to providing quality education.ย 

As per the government, the step will reform the education sector and foster lifelong learning among students. Along with that, the programme will develop a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.

The government invited the applications of the students who meet the eligibility criteria. It asked the students to enrol for the upcoming Michaelmas term.ย 

“The Ministry of Education commits to collaborating with the institutions to facilitate the application and enrolment processes, “said the government.ย 

Along with that, the Grenadian Government stated that some students at the T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) and the New Life Organisation (NEWLO) will not have to pay tuition in the new term.

This initiative is the first phase of the free tuition programme that will be applicable to secondary school graduates for 2023 and TAMCC students who are presently completing their second year.
