Grenada: Prince Harry, 25 years old, Landscaper of Vincennes, St. David and Alden Joseph, 29 years old, Labourer of Dudmar David, were jointly charged by officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with the offences of Burglary (two counts) and Robbery with Violence (two counts) in Grenada.
Harry was also charged with one count of Rape and Wounding, and Joseph was charged with two counts of Rape. The charges stemmed from incidents which occurred at Syracuse, St. David on January 1st 2023, in which both men allegedly broke into two separate houses at night and committed the offences.
The men appeared at St. David Magistrate’s Court today and were remanded until tomorrow, January 12th, 2023.
Along with that, Royal Grenada Police Force also shared another incident in which Akeasher Roberts, 31 years old, Secretary of Mt. Gay, George, was arrested and charged with the offence of causing Harm following a recent incident on a school compound involving a student.
Roberts was placed on bail in the sum of four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) with one (1) surety. She will appear at St. George’s Magistrate’s Court on Friday, February 24th 2023.
In light of the recent incidences of violence and other unacceptable conduct in schools by parents, teachers, and students, the Royal Grenada Police Force appeals to the public to exercise calm and good judgment when dealing with conflicts. They also remind the public that going onto school compounds for the purpose of confronting another person can amount to criminal offences, and such behaviour will be treated with utmost seriousness.
The incident of possession of an Illegal Firearm, Ammunition and Trafficking was also reported in Grenada. Ronald Rohan Audain, 20 years old, Unemployed of Prospect, St. Vincent was arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of an Illegal Firearm, Ammunition and Trafficking in a Controlled Drug.
The charges were laid against Audain following a search of his bag on January 10th 2023 at Hillsborough, Carriacou after he disembarked a vessel. Five (5) rounds of ammunition, one Glock 9mm Pistol and one pound of Cannabis was discovered.
Audain was taken to Gouyave Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody at Prisons. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Thursday January 19th 2023 at Carriacou Magistrate’s Court.
