Grenada: Swimmer Zackery Gresham qualifies for XIX Pan American Games with new 57.38 national record

Grenada: Zackary Gresham did it again yesterday, Wednesday, at the Junior Worlds held in Lima, Peru! Gresham lowered his time in the 100m fly from his 57.80, a national record he had set at the Commonwealth Games, Birmingham just in August this year.

His new time, 57.38 is a new national record which has earned him a B qualifying time for the XIX Pan American Games scheduled for Santiago, Chile, next year.

Zack has also earned qualifying B times for the 2023 Pan American games in the 100 Backstroke, when he swam a final time of 1:00.43 at the Inaugural Caribbean games held in Guadeloupe in July, and in the 200 Individual Medley(IM), when he swam a time of 2:13.13 at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham recently.

The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association is extremely proud of Gresham’s remarkable performances. He is progressing consistently and, along with all the other national swimmers, is an outstanding sports ambassador for Grenada.

According to an August 31, 2022 article, Eastern Caribbean Rising … by Sports journalist Tony Morrison, Drafting the Caribbean, The Next Wave of Caribbean Swimming News and Results captured in drafting the caribbean.wordpress.com, ‘Zackary’s time in the 100 butterflies is also the highest ranking by a boy from the sub-regional bloc.’

Today, we look forward to more performances from our swimmers at junior Worlds: Nathan Fletcher in the 50m Backstroke, heat 3 of 7 heats

Zackary Gresham, also in the 50m Backstroke in heat 5 of 7 heats and,
