Grenada: St David’s Catholic Secondary School of Grenada captured first place in girls’ titles at the 2023 Intercol Championships on Friday evening. The boys of the secondary school secured third place in the tournament.
Prime Minister of Grenada- Dickon Mitchell, took to Facebook and extended greetings while citing, “My dear students of the St David’s Catholic Secondary School, congratulations on your amazing performance at the 2023 Intercol Championships.”
He stated that he watched with pride as the Girls Division claimed the 1st place trophy and the Boys Division took home 3rd place for St. David last evening.
“Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have paid off in a big way, and you have not only made your families, school, and coaches proud, but you have made our entire community proud,”said the prime minister.
The success of both the Girls and Boys Divisions is a testament to the quality of sportsmanship and discipline at SDCSS. They have demonstrated what it means to work together, support each other, and to succeed at your goals.
He also expressed gratitude to the coaches, parents, and all supporters who provided guidance and encouragement along the way. It is his hope that their achievements inspire other young athletes to follow in their footsteps and pursue their dreams with passion and determination.
“Once again, congratulations on your remarkable accomplishment! You are an inspiration to us all, and I look forward to seeing your continued success in the future,”said the prime minister.

The Inter-Secondary Schools’ Athletics Championships in Grenada was held from March 28-30. President of the Grenada Secondary Schools’ Games Association (GSSGA), Dominic Jeremiah says an agreement has been reached with a streaming entity to provide the service for viewers outside of Grenada, starting this year.
Speaking on the weekly TalkSports programme, Jeremiah says they have also decided on a central broadcast service to minimise of many of the ‘broadcast blunders’ experienced in previous years.
