Grenada reports additional 78 positive cases amid community spread of COVID-19

Suffering from community spread, Grenada has confirmed additional 78 positive cases of COVID-19, raising the total tally of confirmed cases to 539 in the country.

St George: Suffering from community spread, Grenada has confirmed additional 78 positive cases of COVID-19, raising the total tally of confirmed cases to 539 in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, Grenada currently has 341 active cases of the COVID-19, out of which 11 are imported and the other 330 cases are local transmissions. So far, the country has reported two deaths.

Currently, there are only 4 persons who are hospitalized and in the supervision of healthcare teams, yet other 341 persons are under isolation. Whereas, total 746 persons are in the quarantine facilities.

Notably, Grenada received 29,259 doses of Pfizer vaccine from the US about 2 weeks ago and has begun the inoculation. According to statistics, a total of 25,353 persons have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the country, and 19,228 persons are fully vaccinated against the deadly virus.

Earlier, health authorities had confirmed the community spread of coronavirus in Grenada and urged every individual to exercise precaution.
