Grenada reports 153 new positive cases of COVID-19, 4 deaths

Grenada reported 153 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and 599 active cases in the country amid community spread crisis, official data showed.

St George: Grenada reported 153 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and 599 active cases in the country amid community spread crisis, official data showed.

The update was issued by the Ministry of Health updated as of September 2, 7 pm. According to data, 6 persons are hospitalised and are under medical supervision. The country has reported 4 deaths related to COVID-19 disease.

The government of Grenada had officially announced that country is facing community spread of the COVID-19, which is increased the spread rapidly. Spike in cases brought a total number of active cases to 599 within few days, from which only 9 cases are imported and other 590 persons are local transmission.

Total 599 persons are in isolation and 667 are admitted to the quarantine facilities across Grenada.

Following the extensive vaccination programme, Grenada has so far vaccinated 26,088 persons with the first dose, and 19,372 are fully vaccinated. Medical officials have conducted total of 60,714 RT-PCR tests to verify the spread of coronavirus.
