Grenada PM visit St George's University, welcomes job creation initiatives

Prime Minister of Grenada Keith Mitchell has visited St George’s University (SGU) and met the Chancellor of the University, Dr Charles Modica, to expand the University’s curriculum and welcome various initiatives that help to create more opportunities for Grenadians on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

He informed about the visit University; PM Mitchell”, My friends, I invite you to join me for a press conference this morning, along with the Chancellor of St.George’s University, Charles Modica”.

While addressing the joint press conference held in the University, the Prime Minister of Grenada explained that the Government of the country only wants to enhance the University by including various information technology for encouraging US-based IT companies, which helps to establish subsidiaries in Grenada.

Meanwhile, Dr Modica also proposed various new initiatives for the University’s upliftment and stated that they are going to start the new plans as early as next week when he met the Ambassador of Grenada to the United States, Yolande Smith.

He further asserted that the University is known as a well-respected institution and showed his confidence that they would achieve the extreme development phase in the coming years, just like the IT institute.

Chancellor of the University further explained the various plans for uplifting it and stressed,” By providing the various job remaining for highly qualified students, smart people and the companies also boost the various plans to guide with their operational needs”.

Prime Minister Kieth Mitchell further emphasised that It is time to make it a leading country in this, and I am very sure that various other countries would also follow it afterwards, just like they did with the medical school.

He further raised his full support for the initiative and noted that the administration has always worked for the upliftment of the University and also encouraged education in the country.

Dr Mitchell further asserted that SGU has a great collaboration with the Government and asserted that the partnership between the Government of Grenada and the University called SGU has enhanced the progress in the country and uplifted the people of the country.
