Grenada: En route to the Houses of Parliament this morning, Prime Minister of Grenada Dickon Mitchell’s car was involved in a motor vehicle accident with oncoming traffic on the Springs main road.

The Prime Minister is unharmed, and all involved escaped without major injury. Speaking from Parliament, where he is scheduled to participate in today’s sitting of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Mitchell expressed concern for the drivers, noting that not all injuries produce immediate pain.

The Office of the Prime Minister is currently working to ensure that all parties receive a medical exam, following the incident, to rule out the risk of potential complications.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Grenada Dickon Mitchell received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Ambassador Linda Sobeh Ali on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

Ambassador Ali acknowledged her country’s greatest resource as its human resource and expressed a willingness to facilitate knowledge sharing in areas of mutual interest, such as the healthcare and agricultural sectors.

Both parties discussed the potential establishment of a small agricultural school in Grenada that could serve the entire Caribbean, in addition to the development of farms and greenhouses for optimal food production and the provision of support in critical areas, such as agriculture engineering.

On the healthcare front, Prime Minister Mitchell and Ambassador Ali discussed the possibility of working with local doctors and nurses to provide health clinics.

Further discussions were held on cooperation in the areas of education, communication and support in the construction of homes. Both sides agreed to maintain contact, continue sharing information and advance discussions on matters of interest.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell recently sat down with Economist and Leading Advisor on the Caribbean Region, Marla Dukharan, to discuss his Government’s policy agenda to create a strategic path forward for Grenada.
