Grenada: Grenada’s National swimmers, Tilly Collymore, Nathan Fletcher, Zackary Gresham and the team’s manager, Nigel Gresham returned home Tuesday, September 6, with yet another National Record obtained by Zackary Gresham on the final day of competitions.

The team’s performances were indeed commendable, having a number of personal best times obtained and National Records broken. A total of eight personal best times were obtained: Three from Nathan Fletcher in his 100 backstrokes, which he swam in 1:07.31 from his previous 1:09.48, his 50 m freestyle which he swam in 25.34 from his previous 25.58 and a National Record time of 25.99 in the 50m Butterfly from his previous 26.02.

Other PB’s were obtained from Zackary Gresham in the 50m Backstroke which he did in 27.89 from his previous 27.96, the 100m butterfly in a time of 57.38 from his previous 57.80, the 100m Freestyle in a time of 54.75 from his previous 55.07, the 50m Butterfly which he did in26.18 from his previous 26.26 and in the 200m backstroke in a time of 2:13.73 from his previous 2:14.29. Among these personal best times by Gresham, were three National Records bringing a total of four National Records gained at the championships.

While Tilly Collymore failed this time to obtain PBs, she too must be commended for her consistent and disciplined representation as one of Grenada’s sports ambassadors over the last five months.

All three swimmers have represented Grenada well, and GASA continues to be extremely proud of their achievements.

Zackary Gresham did it again Wednesday, at the Junior Worlds held in Lima, Peru! Gresham lowered his time in the 100m fly from his 57.80, a national record he had set at the Commonwealth Games, Birmingham just in August this year. His new time, 57.38 is a new national record which has earned him a B qualifying time for the XIX Pan American Games scheduled for Santiago, Chile, next year.
