Grenada: The Ministry of Youth, Sports And Culture and the Arts congratulates the Grenada Tennis Association on hosting and completing the 2022 Summer Classics Junior Tennis Tournament held at the Tanteen Tennis Court in St George’s.

The results of the finals held on 12th July, 2022 are as follows:

Final Results

1.Girls U10 Janiaya Lewis(Carriacou) defeated Richie Gay(Carriacou)6-4,6-0. Third position went to Anya Groote.

2. Boy U10 Nathaniel Cobb defeated Jasim Gittens 2-6, 6-5,6-5. Third was Alain Drigo

3. Girls U12 Destinee Antoine(Carriacou) overcome Camelle Mc Lawerence(Carruacou)4-1, 3rd place went Annabelle Stanislaus(Carriacou)

4. Boys U12 Anthony Frank ( Carriacou) defeated Jayden Bristol(Carriacou) 4-2, 3rd place went to Kassim Gitten.

4.Girls U14 Arlina Drigo defeated Destinee Antoine 4-2,2-4,10-6, third position went to Carmelle Mc Lawerence

5. Boys U14 Khayden Mc Queen defeated Jayden Bristol 4-2 thrid place went to Anthony Frank.

6. Boy U 16 Khayden Mc Queen defeated Ruel Hypolite 4-0,4-0.

Further, In a series of staff engagements, Minister of State w.r.f Youth, Sports & Culture Ron Redhead and Permanent Secretary within the said Ministry Norman Gilbert, on Wednesday met with Youth Mentors and Associates, Staff at the Grenada Youth and Cultural Centre, as well as the New Imani Secretariat.

The Meeting was held at the Grenada Youth & Cultural Centre.

The Minister was welcomed by those in attendance and used the opportunity to outline the present focus of the Government, in regards to Youth, Sports & Culture.

Minister Redhead said “There would be no immediate changes to programs and projects, however, Government intends to review the structure of some key projects including the New Imani Programme”.

He also pledged his commitment towards working with staff within the varying units, to ensure the operations of the Ministry, are in line with Government’s strategic priorities.
