Grenada confirms second COVID-19 related death

Grenada on Monday confirmed second death in the country due to COVID-19.

St George: Grenada on Monday confirmed second death in the country due to COVID-19. Ministry of Health said that more details would be provided after the family has been notified about the occurrence. 

Grenada is also under tribulation of COVID-19 spread as Health Ministry reported additional 104 new positive cases of coronavirus, which brought the total number of active cases to 267. Around 10 persons infected by the virus are imported whereas others are local residents. 

A week ago Grenada has received a batch of 29,250 Pfizer vaccines from the government of US and over 66 individuals have already received their first dose of Pfizer vaccine. 

The government of Grenada has announced that a series of virtual consultations would be carried out with key stakeholders as part of their efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19. 

The consultations would include the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country and how the lives can be protected while safeguarding livelihoods. 

In terms of overall development, the business community is regarded as primary partner and the consultations would be carried out with them as well. 

The visual sessions would begin from September 2, 2021 at 2 pm onwards. Members of the business community were urged to engaged in the virtual session.
