Antigua and Barbuda: E.P. Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade, welcomed to Antigua and Barbuda Theodora Mircea, the newly accredited Ambassador of Romania to Antigua and Barbuda on Thursday, May 5, 2022. 

During their courtesy call, Minister Greene stated that ‘although diplomatic relations between both countries were recently formalized in 2018, this relationship continues to expand as both countries share similar ideals’. He further thanked Ambassador Mircea and the Government of Romania for their support to Barbuda and, by extension Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Both the delegations have discussed various matters to stronger the bilateral ties. 

Ambassador Mircea, in turn, thanked the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for their warm welcome and conveyed that her ‘mandate is to consolidate and prioritize both the diplomatic and political agenda of both countries, to further strengthen the bond that exists.’

Ambassador Mircea presented credentials to Sir Clare Roberts KCN QC, the Governor General’s Deputy, and is scheduled to meet with the Honourable Steadroy Benjamin, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Legal Affairs, Public Safety and Labour, and other officials of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

The Ministry wishes to inform that the Government of India, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), is offering scholarships to pursue the study of Indian Culture in areas of dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian Languages, Indian Cuisine etc. for the academic year 2022-2023.

100 scholarships are available under this programme globally, at a first come, first serve basis. These scholarship slots include return economy class airfare to the nearest airport and 3rd AC Train fare to the place of study, if so required.

Applicants are also advised to visit the websites of their preferred Universities/Institutes to conduct a thorough research of the courses offered, eligibility criteria and general information about each University/Institute, before applying for admission.Â
