Castries, St Lucia: The government of St Lucia will be organized the visual arts competition in order to celebrate the fifth annual Inter-American Week for People of African Descent in the Americans. The competition will be held at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community college, and the registration has been opened by the government. 

The deadline for the submission of the registration form has been extended to Monday, April 18, 2022. The art exhibition will be held from 26th to 28th May 2022 in St Lucia. 

Artistes presently have an opportunity to showcase their works at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College for a group art exhibition on the 26th – 28th of May in collaboration with the Organization of American States.

Artists are invited to submit visual art entries based on the Art Exhibition Theme: ‘Stories of Courage in Americans; Resistance to Slavery, Unity against Racism’.

18th April 2022 Artist Registration Form & upload photos of your art

20th May 2022 Submission of actual artwork to SALCC Campus

26th – 28th May 2022 Group Art Exhibition open to the public at the SALCC Campus

May 28 2022 Announcement of competition winners and prizes awarded.

Eligibility to participate in the Visual art competition

• The participant should be St Lucian, not an outsider. 

• The participant should be both amateur and professional artists

• Between the ages of 12 – 80

All submissions will be reviewed for display at the exhibition on the 26th -28th of May 2022.

Artists will be contacted and informed once their submitted pieces have been successfully chosen by a panel of 5 judges.
