St Kitts and Nevis: The government of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis announced that they are going to extend the income support for the people who are continued unemployed. Now, the government has extended the support to the $1,000 per month, which will aid them in maintaining their conditions.
The announcement was made by the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris, when he attended the sixth National Convention of the People’s Labour Party (PLP) on March 26, 2022- Saturday.
During his presentation at the Convention, Prime Minister Harris stated, “The government would soon announce various measures that would bring great relive for the residents of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. The newly added announcements could be included the reduction in the price of the gases at the pumps of the twin-island Federation. Moreover, it also included the reduction in certain taxes on several items such as groceries and many more, that will make the cost of living more manageable and adjustable.”
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Timothy Harris further mentioned that the government that is made by the people is serving again for the people of the Caribbean country.
Outlining the income support by the government to the unemployed people, PM Harris said that the income support would be given to the unemployed citizens of the country to assist them in their daily needs.
He was quoted as, “The government is going to extend the income support for those who are unemployed citizens in the nation by the $1,000 per month. I think we had the Budget 2022 in which it is mentioned that we will do it for three months, but we will also extend it for another three months to assist them because we really care about them and also monitor the situation of the country.”
He stated that the government will provide financial support worth $1,000 per month to unemployed citizens. PM Harris noted, “We will keep the amount the same for the first three months, and after three months, it will be increased because “we care”.
