Roseau, Dominica: The government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has issued a notice on the general council election 2022 for the different constituencies. The general elections for St Joseph Village will be held on April 20, 2022.
As per the notice, it is informed that in particular the names of the candidates that were nominated to contest the St Joseph Village Council General Election are scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

- Royette Cooke
- Danny Edmond
- Aldin Pierre
- Celia Serrant
- Leon Shillingford
- John Edwards Williams
The government notices further also informed about the Pichelin Village Council General Election. Evans James has been appointed as the Presiding Officer/Supervisor for the village in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Village Council Ordinance, Chapter 190 of the Revised Laws of Dominica.
The elections will be contested on May 5, 2022, and the Presiding Officer will be available at the village council’s office in the village between the hours of 8:00 am and 4: 00 pm to receive the nomination of the candidates.
Every candidate must be named and designed by his full name and residence, in the nomination paper by two duly qualified voters, and the person so named must express in writing on the nomination paper, his contest for such nomination.
Every candidate for the election must deliver, or cause to be delivered to the Presiding Officer/Supervisor, at the time of presenting his nomination paper, a declaration in writing signed by him, stating the qualification possessed by him under section 5 of the Ordinance and that he is all other respects qualified to be nominated and elected to the council.
In the event of the election being contested, the poll will take place between the hours of 8:00 am and 5: 00 pm on the 25 May 2022 and the counting of the votes will take place after the close of the poll.
Further, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the following have been selected for the Paix/Belle Maniere/Moore park/Dos D’Ane Village Council.
- Bruno Figaro with 41 votes
The other candidate recorded votes as follows:
- Hillan George with 34 voted
77 or 63.3 percent of the electorate voted, of which 38 or 49.35 percent were male and 39 or 50.65 percent were females.
There were two rejected ballots.
