Govt of Dominica hand over keys to new homes to 51 beneficiaries of Roseau Central

Most importantly, the Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, commenced the handing over ceremony with the other government officials, such as the Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency, Melissa Skerrit is also present at the ceremony.

Roseau, Dominica: The government of the Commonwealth of Dominica officially handed over 51 keys to the newly built residential units or homes to the beneficiaries residing in the Roseau Central Constituency. On Thursday- April 07, 2022, a handing ceremony was organized where various government officials were present. 

Most importantly, the Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, commenced the handing over ceremony with the other government officials, such as the Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency, Melissa Skerrit is also present at the ceremony. 

Various other delegations, such as Cal Murad, a project manager at MMCE ltd, the Minister of Housing development, and various others, have joined the ceremony. 

The new homes have been built with the help of MMCE and donation from the World bank. The new homes have been constructed at the City Breeze of Roseau Central constituency. The new City Breeze Apartment comprises fifty-one residential units and nine commercial spaces. The commercial spaces will be officially handed over at a later date. 

Further, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit also addressed the gatherings and expressed his huge pleasure over the handing over ceremony.  

While expressing pleasure, Prime Minister Skerrit noted, “My heart is filled with gladness for 51 families of the Roseau Central Constituency, who received keys to new homes last evening.”

The units at the City Breeze Apartments, located on the Upper River Bank, are spacious, modern, and built to the highest standards.

“I know the handed over of the keys of the apartments for those who have longed for safer, more secure homes, especially for your children. I want to extend my heartiest to each of you”, underlined the prime minister. 

He further stated that this gift of quality, resilient shelter from the Government and People of Dominica assures residents greater peace, security, and comfort; and an enhanced sense of belonging and independence.

“I extend heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the beneficiaries. All glory unto the Lord,” he added. 

In addition to that, the Parliamentary Representative of the Roseau Constituency, Melissa Skerrit, also addressed the gathering and expressed his happiness over the donation.

She said, “I was delighted to officially hand over apartment keys to 51 families of the Roseau Central Constituency on Thursday 7, April of the newly constructed City Breeze Apartments located on the Upper River Bank.”

These attractive, modern, and architecturally resilient homes enhance the city of Roseau and have uplifted and improved the lives of many of the citizens of the country. 

Extending wishes to the beneficiaries, Melissa Skerrit expressed, “Congratulations to all beneficiaries and safekeeping of these environmentally-friendly residences.”
