St Kitts and Nevis: After the sudden demise of the late Ambassador and former Premier of Nevis Vance Winkworth Amory, the Funeral service commenced at the Elquemedo Willett Park in Nevis. On Saturday, April 30, 2022, the authorities of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis organized the State Funeral service and paid tribute to the late Ambassador with heartfelt messages.
Among those who have joined the family at today’s service are Governor-General Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris and members of the Federal Cabinet and Nevis Island Administration; representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps, as well as friends and loved ones of the former Premier of Nevis.
In order to outline the Life and Public Service of Vance Amory and pay condolences to the family and loved ones of the former Premier, the Cabinet of Federal and Nevis Island Administration has organized the funeral service.
Further, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris also paid tribute to Vance Amory and condolences to his loved ones with a heartfelt message.
PM Harris said, “It’s never easy to say goodbye, but we know you have gone to a better place, leaving memories that will live on.”
“We are better today as a nation and as a people because of the profound lessons received from a prominent stalwart who resolutely refused to accept and perform service that was strained by mediocrity and self-aggrandizement. He was the embodiment of our Motto, “Country Above Self. Rest in Peace, H.E Vance Amory.”
Prime Minister Harris further asserted that Vance Amory always worked for the betterment of the people with the quality of education, and education is the only key to great living standard.
“We are a better people today because Vance Amory left behind a political legacy par excellence,” he added.
Vance Amory took his last breath in London. He served as an Ambassador of the Federation and Premier of Nevis and worked for the upliftment of the country.
