Allen Chastanet’s Wikipedia and Facebook bio explains him as a businessman and politician who served as the Prime Minister of St Lucia from 2016 to 2021. His description of being a businessman appears to be quite right as all the five years of his term, all he aided was his personal corporations.
The Coco Palm resort in Rodney Bay, St Lucia, is owned by Allen Chastanet and his father, Michael Chastanet. The former Prime Minister is currently the Managing Director of this multi-luxury resort. Besides this, Allen Chastanet directly or indirectly owns multiple businesses across St Lucia.
According to an whistle-blower of St Lucia, The UWP Leader multiplied his wealth by millions just by being the Prime Minister for five years. People are relieved after ousting him from the government in the 2021 elections. The St Lucia Labour Party received a massive victory following the disappointments created by Allen Chastanet and his leadership. The UWP could only secure two seats out of seventeen parliament constituencies.
As per statistics, the GDP of St Lucia experienced a catastrophic decline during the regime of the United Workers Party (UWP). He had an opportunity to bring a change in St Lucia, but his selection as the Prime Minister was proven to be unpromising.

In 2016, people invested their trust in United Workers Party and in Allen Chastanet; however, the lack of realistic ideas showed his failure as the PM.

Allen Chastanet was not been seen for a long time since the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) took power after the July 26, 2021 General Election.
The former Prime Minister of Saint Lucia was first seen missing at the House of Parliament’s first session on August 5 2021, when legislators and senators were sworn in.
In his defence, Chastanet told that he was on a well-earned vacation with his family and that the swearing-in was purely ceremonial. While many expected the Opposition Leader to appear at the second session, he did not.
Former United Workers Party member Stephenson King during that time said that the former prime minister’s absence for the second time in a row is a negative reflection of the people he serves.
Mismanagement of COVID-19
In November 2020, St Lucia underwent the worse COVID-19 outbreak; hospitals were overwhelmed. But, the situation was not only limited to coronavirus; the country was also under another epidemic, “Dengue”. Thousands of people faced inconvenience because of the lack of stable government policies to tackle the double health crisis.
