Trinidad and Tobago: The flooding condition in Trinidad and Tobago after scattered thunderstorms have turned to the crisis.
The red cross society of the country quoted on this that it is very important to have the preparedness before any such tragedy knocks the door.
No one knows when such happenings occur so the preparation plan should always be active.
For the proper preparedness, the constituents which are to be in the emergency kit are:
- Cell phone and Charger
- Important Documents
- Battery operations
- Non-Perishable Foods
Enough quantity of water is to be placed in the emergency kit. This may have the possible quantity of 1 gallon for a person for 3 days.
Cell Phone and Charger
The phone and the charger is the most required thing to be added in the kit. It will provide help in reaching out to the government body or the people which can give a helping hand.
The emergency kit should include medicines as the most required element. Contraceptives and the copies of prescriptions are to be in the kit for the first aid purpose.
All the documents, probably the copies of personal documents are to be the part of the kit.
These flashlights or extra batteries are to be added in the kit. These may be used at times of danger.
Non – Perishable Food
These are the canned or packaged food items such as energy drinks, bars, crackers etcetera.
Apart from the emergency kit, there are some measures as well that should be followed right before the blood.
Firstly, the vehicles should be parked or shifted to higher ground. Another is, elevation of the furniture or other objects if there is possibility.
Water, being the most important for survival, is to be considered as a prior basis. So, the bottles should be pre filled immediately with the water.
