Trinidad and Tobago is all set to host the final of the 2023 Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Caribbean: Trinidad and Tobago is all set to host the final of the 2023 Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) on Sunday, September 10, 2023. The tournament will be started on August 30 with the three teams such as Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors. 

The 2nd edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) will feature a schedule of seven matches. Each team will play four group games, with the top two qualifying for the final. The teams will consist of players from across the Caribbean and some of the best international cricketers from around the world. 

Pete Russell, CEO of the Caribbean Premier League, expressed pleasure in the expansion of the WCPL schedule for 2023. He also extended gratitude to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for their support in helping to grow the tournament in 2023. He said, “We are looking forward to seeing one of these teams while lifting the WCPL trophy in Trinidad & Tobago on September 10.” 

Minister of Sport and Community Development- also said that they are happy to collaborate with the Caribbean Premier League and host the final match of the 2023 Women’s CPL. It will be a great opportunity for the country to host the game as it strategically aligns with the goal of the Ministry’s ongoing Pink Reign TT campaign, which speaks to promoting women and girls in sports. 

The staging of the game further provides the platform for Trinidad and Tobago to showcase the true spirit of the Caribbean by bringing together cricket enthusiasts from around the world. Along with that, the tournament will also serve as a testament to the Government’s commitment to encouraging women and girls to live a healthier, more active lifestyle.
