Elevating the Sporting Experience at the Atiba Erasto Harris Sporting Complex

As part of the Ministry of Sports’ ongoing efforts to revitalize their sporting facilities, the department had the privilege of visiting the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium.

This premier athletic stadium is in dire need of a complete overhaul, and the government of St Kitts and Nevis is committed to transforming it into a world-class venue that will attract regional and international sporting competitions.

It’s been a decade since any work has been done on this stadium, but that changes now. The government has an ambitious plan in place: a brand new track, seat replacements, bathroom renovations, pavilion repairs, roof refurbishment, lights maintenance, and gym renovations.

No longer will this stadium be neglected. Their commitment to ensuring top-tier sporting facilities means this stadium will shine once again.

Enhancing the Spectator Experience at The Newtown Playing Field

As the media tour progresses, St Kitts and Nevis is thrilled to share the exciting developments at The Newtown Playing Field, home to one of our premier league teams.

The Newtown Playing Field is a key component of their vision, and these upcoming improvements are just the beginning. They are intently focused on the safety and comfort of the spectators. They have identified the worn-out roof as a safety hazard and, within the next few weeks, they will begin the project to replace it.

Additionally, the old wooden benches will be replaced with modern and durable aluminum benches, offering an enhanced viewing experience. To further improve the facility, they will replace the windows for better ventilation and aesthetics.

Their commitment to excellence remains unwavering. They are dedicated to ensuring that all our sporting facilities are in the best condition, creating an environment where athletes can shine, and spectators can enjoy the matches to the fullest.

Building the Future of Athletics at St. Peter’s Playing Field

St Kitts and Nevis ambitious plans to revitalize the formerly known St. Peter’s Playing Field, now known as the Atiba Erasto Harris Sporting Complex and take it to new heights.

They have already renovated the bathrooms, providing modern and clean facilities for all athletes and spectators. The vision for this complex includes installing a roof, repairing railings, painting the interior and exterior, refurbishing the seats, adding a gym and kitchen, and enhancing the lighting.

These enhancements will ensure that athletes and spectators alike have a truly exceptional experience. The Atiba Erasto Harris Sporting Complex will be a testament to their dedication.

Taking Sports Facilities to the Next Level

As part of the Ministry of Sports’ commitment to enhancing their sporting landscape, they embarked on a media tour visiting sporting facilities across the country. They kicked off the tour at the Conaree Football Field and the Conaree Cricket Stadium.

First up, at the Conaree Football Field, they have an incredible project in the works. Over the next 12 months, they are building a state-of-the-art stadium and brand-new bathroom facilities. This development will not only benefit the local community but also pave the way for hosting premier league games right here in Conaree.

Next, they visited the Conaree Cricket Center, where they recently installed top-notch bathrooms in June. It’s their mission to ensure that their sporting facilities meet the highest standards, not just for local games but also for regional and international events. The Conaree Cricket Stadium is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the most sought-after venues, and they are dedicated to ensuring it has all the necessities.
