Europe: Stéphane Bijoux- Member of the European Parliament, extended gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for choosing to place Outremer at the heart of their political action in the service of each of their territories.

He took to Twitter and stated that Europe would be really less great without the Outremer. Stéphane Bijoux said, “4 years of collective work to fulfil our commitment to building together a Europe that leaves no one behind.”

He extended gratitude to Emmanuel Macron and the entire L’Europe Ensemble team for choosing to place Outremer at the heart of their political action in the service of each of their territories.

Emmanuel Macron- President of France also issued statement on this which is as follows:

It has been four years since European citizens elected their representatives. Vibrant hearts of European democracy, our MEPs act for a more sovereign Europe, which protects us and offers us new opportunities. The European Parliament has a considerable impact on our daily lives. It was our elected European representatives who built a majority in the Strasbourg hemicycle to validate the 750 billion recovery plan over which I fought at the European Council.

They are the ones who are building, step by step, the Green Pact essential to the fight against global warming. They are the ones who act to regulate the digital giants, to provide a united and responsible response to the question of asylum and migration, to defend our values or to help Ukraine. In the European Parliament, the search for compromise is the rule. Pro-European elected representatives from all political families work together in the name of the higher interests of Europe and, therefore, of France.

Today I want to salute this spirit of responsibility which makes our European democracy among the most effective in the world. I particularly welcome the elected members of the L’Europe Ensemble delegation, gathered within the most pro-European group, Renew Europe. Their action has been decisive in the very important European legislative work carried out since 2019.

I thank them for our rich and constant exchanges in the service of the European ambition that I have carried since my first mandate. At a time when representative democracy is contested all over the world by populists and supporters of illiberalism, the European Parliament provides a vibrant response to the doubts of our fellow citizens. Europe is our chance, our future.
