Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia- Dr Ernest Hilaire, took to social media and shared an update on the annual Saint Lucia Showcase, which was concluded in London.
He mentioned that after the stoppage of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event kicked off with three Retail Travel Trade events.
The Annual Saint Lucia Showcase concludes tonight with a Saint Lucia Diaspora Meeting at the High Commission in London. After a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event kicked off with three Retail Travel Trade events in Manchester, Chester and London.
This was followed by a Press Luncheon attended by over 20 consumer and trade media persons. On Thursday, the SLTA brought top Tour Operator partners from the UK and Europe face-to-face with over 20 Saint Lucian Hotels and Resorts representatives for a full day of B2B meetings. This culminated with the hosting of the Annual Saint Lucia Gala Dinner at the DeVere Hotel.
A highlight of the Gala was the presentation of Special Recognition Awards to:
– British Airways for flying to Saint Lucia throughout the pandemic;
– Elite Island Resorts for their 20 year Service to Saint Lucia;
– Tour Operator TUI for continuing service throughout; and
– Andrew Bishop for his 30 Year contribution to the development of the Saint Lucia Yachting Sector particularly the ARC.
Already with record-breaking arrival numbers in 2022, Saint Lucia is expected to have improved performances for 2023.
