Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture & Information Ernest Hilaire expressed pleasure in getting an opportunity to host this year’s edition of the World Travel Awards Caribbean and The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 in Saint Lucia.
He took to social media to express his excitement and stated that they are honoured to be the host country for the World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023. He cited, “I am excited to announce that Saint Lucia will host this year’s edition of the World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023. This year is also the 30th anniversary of the World Travel Awards.”
While referring to this as a great opportunity, Ernest Hilaire added that the tourism industry works as a great pillar for the progress of the economy. He said Saint Lucia won the title of the Caribbean’s leading honeymoon destination on several occasions. The country also secured the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Destination for the first time in 2022.
Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire added, “It is an esteemed honour to host the awards of which we have won Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination on countless occasions and, for the first time last year, Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Destination.”
He asserted that this is the time to continue the work for the development of the tourism industry, which benefits Saint Lucia as a whole. Ernest Hilaire remarked, “We cannot underestimate the impact that tourism has on our economy, so let us continue to build and develop a tourism industry that is inclusive and beneficial to all.”
He expressed pleasure in hosting the award function and stated that Saint Lucia is all set to join the global travel and tourism industry to celebrate the 30th 30th anniversary of the World Travel Awards.
