Roseau, Dominica: Dominica Labour Party launched yet another candidate named Gretta Roberts from Grand Fond Constituency for the upcoming general elections on December 6, 2022. The launch ceremony was held at Grand Fond Hard Court on Wednesday.
The guest speaker of the launch event was Joseph Issac, Cozeir Friedrick, Dr Cassandra Williams, Octavia Alfred, and Reginald Austrie.
During the ceremony, Gretta Roberts cited that she could not have deprived someone who was in need of medical attention, neither could have she disregarded the please for assistance in Family matters, nor could she have turned a blind eye or death air to the general well being of others in these past 33 months.
She asserted that she always addressed numerous issues such as community development, whether in education, sports, employment, housing, social issues, or religion.
“It is my fervent belief that the development of the community begins with the development of its people, and I have always valued human life and meeting your needs and seeing after your general welfare was indeed a blessing for me, “Roberts added.
Gretta Roberts asserted that she has full faith in people as it was an honour to be of service to people. This is the reason why she placed her trust in DLP in 2019 bcoz she knew that they would be taken care of, and she has not regretted this decision to this day.
“We still have so much to do; our new state-of-the-art health centre has to be built, our water supply under the defeat project supplying water from grand fond to the neighbouring communities has begun and will certainly bring relief to all of us in this constituency once it is finished, “said the candidate.
“In this new term, we will continue with the transformation of agriculture in our communities with our assistance to farmers, promoting youth in agriculture, educational opportunities for young people to include the continuation of youth skills programmes and renew our support for small business entrepreneurs who have demonstrated and added interest in agro-processing, beekeeping and boat building.”
Gretta Roberts calls on the people here, especially the youth in this constituency, to give him the mandate to serve for the next five years. The time is now.
