Roseau, Dominica: The election day has started in the Commonwealth of Dominica. Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and Melissa Skerrit have cast their vote and shared glimpses. Both leaders urged the people to come out and use the right to vote.Ā 

The citizens of the country stepped out to cast their votes and choose their representatives from different constituencies. PM Roosevelt Skerrit also asserted that every vote will be counted.Ā 

Earlier, the electoral office of Dominica announced the polling stations for the 15 constituencies.Ā The polling started at 7 pm and will be taken place till 5 pm. The polling stations will be closed and the results will be declared aftermath.

December 6, 2022, is the day to pave the path for the candidates of different political parties to the parliament. Around 45 candidates have filed their nominations for the snap general elections, which is the highest number in the decade.Ā 

Associates Times will bring every update of the general elections and pollings in the Commonwealth of Dominica. Voting will take place in polling stations, which are mainly in schools, across the country.

Security forces have deployed to monitor related events and safeguard election-related sites. Dominica Labour Party has been currently ruling in the country and submitted the nomination for the 21 constituencies. The six constituencies have been declared for the DLP because of no electorates.Ā 

The Electoral Office informs the public that 45 candidates were duly nominated in the 21 Constituencies in Dominica on Nomination Day, Friday, November 18 2022, for General Elections on December 6. In 6 constituencies, the sole candidate nominated has been declared duly elected.
