The reconstruction of the Primary school cost around EC 2.1 million dollars. The project has been funded by the government of Canada, and the Caribbean Development Bank has also assisted the government of Dominica financially.

The construction of the school has been completed under the Climate Resilience and Restoration Project. So the entire project gets financial assistance from the government of Dominica, and the Government of Canada, which includes the Caribbean Development Bank.

The news has been broken out on the social media where the government of Dominica writes, “The school was reconstructed at the cost of EC$2.1 million as part of the Climate Resilience and Restoration Project with financing from the Government of Canada through the Caribbean Development Bank, and the Government of Dominica.”

Further, the newly built primary school consisted of various facilities, including the upgrade level classroom. It also consisted auditorium, computer lab and library, kitchen, cafeteria, guidance and counselling room and washroom facilities.

The new early childhood education centre and the administrative building were also upgraded with great modification. All these new features have created a healthy and friendly environment for the kids and will assist the teachers in promoting an energetic environment among them.

The government said, “Features include upgraded classroom block, auditorium, computer lab & library, kitchen, cafeteria, guidance & counselling room and washroom facilities; and a new early childhood education centre and administrative building.”

Earlier, the government of Dominica handed over the keys to the newly rehabilitated Delices and Morne Primary School to the students and teachers.

The commissioning of the newly built school occurred on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

All the reconstructions of the school have been done due to the damage caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
