Roseau, Dominica: Two student athletes of Dominica named “Kerrelle Etienne” and “Nathan Telemacque” secured full scholarships to pursue their careers in track and field in Jamaica.
After gaining the full scholarships, both Dominican student athletes will attend the Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica. The government of Dominica extended greetings to the students for their achievement and wishes for the best in the careers.
The Dominica Amateur Athletics Association extended gratitude to the government of Dominica, Dominica Olympic Committee, Sagicor Insurance and their manager Cheryl Rolle, the Grand Bay Co-opeative Credit Union and the Marigot Cooperative Credit Union for the great assistance in helping the students on their journey to Jamaica.
DAAA said, ”Two Dominican Student Athletes have secured full scholarships to further their careers in track and field in Jamaica.”
Kerrelle Etienne
Kerrelle Etienne is the national junior record holder and played well in the 100-meter sprints. She is the fastest youth female sprinter on Dominica and secured numerous records with her performance.
With her commendable performance as the sprinter, Etienne secured the full scholarship in Jamaica. She will pursue her study and excel her skills in track and field in the Edwin Allen High School. Under the true guidance of the national record holder sprinters, she will pave her success path in the sprinting.
The scholarships itself speaks her growth and success as the sprinter from Dominica. Etienne is also a national junior record holder of 11.80 seconds in the junior 100-meter events.
Nathan Telemacque
Nathan Telemacque is known as one of the leading male athletes in Dominica. He represented his country in several athletics championships such as Octhlon at the CARIFTA Games. Telemacque gained the scholarship in Jamaica with his capabilities

He also won a bronze medal in High Jump at the last ALBA games in Venezuela. In the game, he picked up Dominica’s first medal in track and field. She recorded a bronze in the Men’s High Jump.
Nathan jumped 1.90 meters in the Men’s High Jump Final in ALBA games.

The announcement of the scholarships for the student athletes has created excitement among the citizens of Dominica. The citizens overwhelmed with the selection and said that this will enhance their capabilities in the sports.
