Dominica: Tourism Ministry shares glimpse of first annual Business to Business Forum

The government of Dominica hosted the Business to Business form with the aim of strengthening the local business and providing them with different opportunities. 

Roseau, Dominica: Ministry of Tourism, International Transport, and Maritime Initiatives of the Commonwealth of Dominica shared a glimpse of the Business to Business Forum held at Goodwill Parish Hall and marked it as a great success. The forum was held from August 31 to 1 September 2022. 

The government of Dominica hosted the Business to Business form with the aim of strengthening the local business and providing them with different opportunities. The forum witnessed great interaction between investors and local businessmen. They engaged with them and outlined the quality of their products and enhanced their knowledge about the business. 

In the forum, various MSMEs and investors, vendors, and hotels across the nation gathered and interacted with each other. 

While giving an update on social media, the ministry stated that various talented MSMEs became part of the session. The forum gave them the opportunity to showcase their talents, ideas and creative minds to investors, vendors, markets, etc. 

The session featured one-on-one engagement between the people where MSMEs received information regarding various different ideas and fields in the business and investment industries. They also indulged in activities such as Strategic Focus Group Discussion. 

Tourism Ministry stated that their first annual Business to Business Forum was a great success. MSMEs from Nature Island, Dominica, was allowed the opportunity to forge partnerships and build their network for two days.

The Goodwill Parish Hall was filled with creative and talented MSMEs showcasing their unique products to Investors, Vendors, Hotels, Supermarkets, and New Markets. They also received relevant information to forward mobility from Strategic Focus Group discussions.

The session remained a great source of information where the explanation of different queries took place. The important factors necessary while starting a business, various methods involved in the sector, and many more have been discussed in the forum.

Further, the form was opened to businesses in various sectors such as: 

  • Agro-Tourism
  • Health and Wellness Manufacturing
  • Agro-Processing/manufacturing
  • Creative Industry
  • APP and Software Development to Support the sectors above
  • Other

The benefits of Producers and service providers: 

  • An opportunity to showcase, market and pitch your product: or services directly to the right market.

The benefits for Hoteliers, Investors, Vendors, Restaurants and Retailers: 

  • An opportunity to learn about new and emerging products and sample unique locally made products.

The Ministry of Tourism asked the people to tag the different businesses and feel free to share their views on their unique products. They will soon see them again at the Ti Village Creole – Tout Biteh Dominique, where all Local Produce will be on display as the ministry will conduct another session in the village.
