Dominica: Tourism Ministry hosts two community outreach drives under "Small Business One Stop Shop" initiative
Roseau, Dominica: The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport, and Maritime Initiatives of Dominica hosted two community outreach drives in Laplaine and Newtown. Under their newly launched initiative- “Small Business One Stop Shop“, the Ministry engaged with various small business owners in the community.
The Small Business One Stop Shop was launched by the Ministry of tourism on August 13, 2022, with an aim to strengthen the local and small business owners.
The Ministry stated, “We mean business in the small business support unit! Just a week after launching the Small Business One Stop Shop, the team has gone on two community outreach drives in Laplaine and Newtown.”
Through these drives, they were able to engage with various small business owners by informing them about their plans and services provided by One Stop Shop, listening to their needs and concerns, and reaffirming their commitment and willingness to help them to grow their businesses.
The Ministry outlined that they are weeks away from Launching Dominica’s Biggest Business to Business Forum.
During the launch of the initiatives, the Ministry of Tourism of Dominica presented Training Certificates to recipients from Cohorts 2 to 5 under the Small Business Support Unit.
Around 120 Small Business beneficiaries in Dominica have undergone critical prerequisites for receiving grant funding. Equipping them with training in; Business Planning & Legalities, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales & Negotiations, Financial Management, and more, as per the Ministry.
They further asserted that they recognize the significance of a thriving MSME sector in Dominica. Therefore, they will continue to create avenues for businesses to strive for.
Small Business One Stop Shop is for all businesses which are in need. One convenient location to turn what starts as an idea into a successful striving business. Small business owners can visit sbsu.dominica.gov.dm to receive all the information, resources, and support needed to launch a business.
Under the initiatives, small businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this new initiative created just for them.
