Dominica to participate in FIRST GLOBAL Robotics Competition, PM Skerrit extends best wishes

Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended greetings and wishes to the Robotics Team of the country, which will be participating in the FIRST GLOBAL Robotics Competition.

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, extended greetings and wishes to the Robotics Team of the country, which will be participating in the FIRST GLOBAL Robotics Competition. 

The competition will be held from October 13, 2022, to October 16, 2022, in Geneva, Switzerland. While expressing pleasure, he noted, “The Dominica Robotics Team is off to Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the FIRST GLOBAL Robotics Competition from October 11-16.”

He also held an interaction with the team members and wished them luck for the competition. He welcomed the team members on Friday for a pep talk and wished them luck for the competition. 

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit expressed pleasure while chatting with the group of young innovators who will be emerged as the future problem solvers of the country. 

“It was a pleasure chatting with the group of young innovators who are our country’s future problem solvers. Let’s wish them every success in the competition, “said the prime minister. 

In the spirit of unity, global purpose and collaboration, the platform will provide opportunities for high school students, volunteers, mentors, and supporters of more than 180 nations to come together face-to-face in the competition for the first time since 2019. 

FIRST Global will be worked as the perfect platform to enhance the youngsters in the field of technology. It provides them with a chance to understand the significance of the technology. It also helps in outlining the abilities and knowledge and collaborating to solve critical problems. 

The event will feature various activities focused on various teams of students, which will be utilized a standard kit of parts. The kits will create and assemble a robot to complete tasks in a themed competition. 

Held in Geneva, the event will be marked the sixth anniversary of FIRST Global. It will also be the first event in the European region. Earlier, Washington, DC, Mexico City and Dubai hosted the FIRST Global Challenges.Â
