Roseau, Dominica: The official opening ceremony of the Carnival of Dominica- Mas Domnik 2023 will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Carnival City. The opening ceremony will start at 3: 00 pm, showcasing the vibrant and authentic culture of the Nature Isle of the Caribbean. 

The opening ceremony will feature the street parade and other exciting events. The parade will be held from 2 pm to 6 pm on the streets of Roseau. The Carnival of Dominica will celebrate authentic culture and street festivals. 

The first event of the Carnival is Stardom Calypso Tent which will feature different fun events and activities. There will be food, music and various other activities to entertain the audience. 

With the official opening ceremony of the Carnival of Dominica, Mas Domnik will witness significant events such as Miss Dominica Teen Pageant 2023, Junior Calypso Competition, Grand Bay Carnival Village, Annual Souce and Punch, Lumi Nation, Carni Mas, Children’s Carnival 2023, Marigot Village Carnival and Pinknic. 

The Carnival of Dominica will showcase the vibrant culture, music and heritage of the people of the country. Various events will outline the hidden talents of the Dominicans and provides them with the platform to enhance their skills in different competitions. Miss Dominica Pageant and Miss Teen Pageant are such events which will help to showcase the hidden talents and skills of the beauties of the country.  

Dominica Festivals invited the citizens to the opening of Mas Domnik and stated, “Saturday is the Official Opening of Mas Domnik! Don’t miss the street parade, music, and culture as we launch the Caribbean’s most original Carnival.” 

Dominica Festivals also announced the official street parade route and people can check out the official street parade route below: 

The parade will move NORTHWARD along Victoria Street unto Dame Eugenia Charles Blvd, turning EAST unto King George V Street, NORTHWARDS on Great George Street, EASTWARDS on Riverbank, SOUTH unto Independence Street and EAST on Kennedy Avenue into the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

  • NO PARKING along the parade route from 2 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, January 14 2023.
  •  Street Parade from 3 pm
  •  Ceremony from 6 pm at Carnival City

Dominica Festivals also invites people and visitors to attend the different events of the Carnival, which will be started after its opening ceremony.
