Roseau, Dominica: Sports Division in the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development of Dominica is all set to host “Women and Girls Sports Festival” dubbed 3K Race and Sports Festival on Sunday, March 5, 2023. The festival will be held at Lindo Park at 2: 30 pm.

The festival will be started form Ravine Cock/Canefield Cliff and featured different sporting events and activities. In order to celebrate the International Women’s Day with the ladies, Sports Division of Dominica will host the festival.

The festival will feature races between the different age groups of the women which will be started from Ravine Cock Canefield Cliff and be ended from Lindo Park. In order to encourage the role of the women in the field of sports, the Sports Division of Dominica is committed to host such events and festivals.

While inviting the women throughout the country, Sports Division stated,” Coming This Sunday, Calling All Ladies. Come celebrate International Women’s Day”. The event will consist of different sporting activities. Sports Division is used to host such events and festivals to encourage the women in the sports such as Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball and Netball.

Earlier, The Sports Division Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship continued today at the Castle Bruce hard court. The Castle Bruce Secondary School girls defeated the Portsmouth Secondary School in the lone match played at the Castle Bruce hard court today.

W S Stevens Primary School students win girls’ Open Singles in Primary Schools Table Tennis. Jahri Prince won the boys’ open singles whilst Elize Charles won the girls’ open singles. Jahri Prince defeated his fellow WS Stevens counterpart DeJon Frank in straight sets 11-2, 11-5, 11-9.

Similarly, Elize Charles defeated Jaycoilia Benjamin of the St. John’s Primary 11-2, 11-4, 11-3. The Sports Division organized event took place at the Massacre Indoor Facility with the final round taking place on Wednesday.
