Dominica to host U17 football two-match series against Saint Lucia, selects players

The Sports Division of Dominica is all set to host the Under 17 football team for a two-match series against the Saint Lucia Sports Academy on April 11 and April 12, 2023 from 6pm at Benjamin's Park

Roseau, Dominica: The Sports Division of Dominica is all set to host the Under 17 football team for a two-match series against the Saint Lucia Sports Academy on April 11 and April 12, 2023 from 6pm at Benjamin’s Park. It has selected the following players to represent the Dominica Schools in the tournament. 

The players were selected from the recent Secondary Schools Football Championship.

Players are :

4. Elvon Clifton John – SMA

5. Sheran Charles – CBSS

6. Noah Joseph – DGS

7. Malachi Labad – DGS

9. Dhamario Challenger – CBSS

10. Chance Marshall – DGS

11. Malachi Bonney – DGS

12. Tourie Christmas – CBSS

13. Ajani Richards – DGS

14. Mateo Riviere – ITSS

15. Terrance Winston – CBSS

16. Lyan Edwards – CBSS

17. Fabio Drigo – CBSS

18. Josimah Gustave – GSS

The Sports Division has hosted a contingent of students and officials of the Saint Lucia Sports Academy from April 8 to 14. While in Dominica, the Saint Lucian students will engage in cricket, football and track & field. The team of 81 will arrive on April 8.

A welcome reception will be held for the team on the evening of the 8th. During their stay, they will compete against the champion under 17 schools team, Castle Bruce Secondary School, and the winner of the secondary schools cricket championship, Dominica State College, and a combined schools cricket and football team. 

The visitors will also compete against the various winners of the secondary schools athletics championship. A culture night and an awards ceremony will also form part of the tour.

Sports Division of Dominica has been working to encourage the students in different sporting events by staging such friendly matches. Earlier, In the Secondary Schools U20 Boys Basketball Championship.
