Roseau, Dominica: Sports Division in the Ministry of Youth, Culture, Sports and Community Development of Dominica is all set to host Secondary Schools Football Championship Week 2023 slated from February 1 to February 5, 2023.

While sharing updates on Facebook, the Sports Division stated that the matches will be played in four divisions and three schools will participate in the Football Championship. The matches will be played at two venues named Benjamin’s Park and Windsor Park sports Stadium in Dominica. The winner will be decided in these matches.

The schedule of the matches is as follows:

  • On Wednesday, February 1, 2023: There will be final matches between the teams of Under 20 at 3: 30 pm. The match will be held between Isaiah Thomas Secondary School and Dominica Grammar School.
  • On Wednesday, February 3, 2023: Two matches will be played between the Castle Bruce Secondary School and Dominica Grammar School Under 13 and Under 17 categories. The final matches will be held at 2: 00 pm and 3: 30 pm respectively. The matches will be held at Windsor Park Sports Stadium
  • On Sunday, February 5, 2023: The final match between Castle Bruce Secondary School and Dominica Grammar School Under 15 will be held at 3: 30 pm. The Football match will be held at Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Earlier, the Sports Division National Bank of Dominica Ltd Primary Schools boys Division One football championship continued today Tuesday 31st January, 2023 at two venues.

The West Zone was played at Lindo Park, Goodwill.

The Salisbury Primary School topped the Zone over the Kelleb Laurent Primary School by goal difference. Both school finish on 7 points from 2 wins and 1 draw but Salisbury Primary School enjoy a better goal difference of +9 goals to Kelleb Laurent Primary +5.

Massacre Primary School came 3rd and the Mahaut Primary School was in 4th place.

Over at Benjamin Park in the North/North West Zone, the Roosevelt Douglas Primary secured 1st place with 9 points from there three games played. Coulibistrie/Colihaut and Dublanc combined came 2nd with 6 points followed by St. John’s Primary in 3rd over Bense Primary School on goal difference both Schools were on 1 point each.
