Dominica to host “Real Mas 2023” Carnival, launches calendar of events

The Commonwealth of Dominica is all set to host the Mas Dominik Carnival, also known as "Real Mas 2023". The event will be held from January 14 to February 22, 2023.

Roseau, Dominica: The Commonwealth of Dominica is all set to host the Mas Dominik Carnival, also known as “Real Mas 2023”. The event will be held from January 14 to February 22, 2023.

The Carnival of Dominica will feature numerous activities and competitions, and stage shows such as Calypso, Soca Monarch, Miss Teen Dominica, Carnival Princess Show and many more. There will be fun events for the children, such as Kiddies Carnival and Grand Bay Children’s Carnival.  

Besides this, the Carnival is set to create an opportunity for the local vendors, artisans and street vendors to uplift their businesses. The chance of employment will be increased during the staging of the Carnival. 

Dominica Festivals launched the Mas Dominik 2023 and its calendar of events on Friday (November 25, 2022) at 6 pm at Anchorage Hotel, Petit Miami. 

The Calendar of Events for the Carnival is as follows:

On January 21, 2023: There will be three events on the day

  • Ole Mas Festival
  • Mahaut Village Carnival
  • Calypso Quarter-Final

On January 22, 2023: The name of the event is 

  • Portsmouth Town Carnival

On January 27, 2023: 

  • Mas Camp Calypso Tent

On January 28, 2023: There will be three events on the day

  • St. Joseph Village Carnival
  • Grandbay Village Carnival

Dominica Festivals stated, “Carnival 2023 is coming and we’re bringing back Mas An Lawi. Don’t miss out on any fetes and hot spots this season. Celebrate the real mas for Carnival only in Dominica! Check out Wine Down on February 12 to elevate you carnival experience in Dominica.”

The Real Mas is back. In 2023, Mas Domnik will bring you all the things which make it the unique Carnival in the region with a packed schedule of pageants, stage show events, street parades, calypso, Jouvert, costume bands, and more. 

Discover Dominica hosted a number of top regional media houses and social media influencers for the World Creole Music Festival 2022. Of course, no visit to Nature Island is complete without taking in a bit of our wealth of beautiful eco-tourism sites. The event featured Trafalgar Falls, Ti Kwen Glo Cho, and Scott’s Head.
