Dominica to host Junior Calypso Bouyon Competition 2023, 15 contestants to compete

The Commonwealth of Dominica will host the Junior Calypso Bouyon Competition on February 3, 2023, at Carnival City (Windsor Park Sports Stadium forecourt). 15 students from primary and secondary schools across the country will compete in the traditional Calypso and contemporary Bouyon.

Roseau, Dominica: The Commonwealth of Dominica will host the Junior Calypso Bouyon Competition on February 3, 2023, at Carnival City (Windsor Park Sports Stadium forecourt). 15 students from primary and secondary schools across the country will compete in the traditional Calypso and contemporary Bouyon.

The pageant will showcase the engagement of the youth in the vibrant and authentic culture of Dominica. It will present the customs, values, traditions, and culture of the Nature Isle during the standing of the Junior Calypso Bouyon Competition 2023.

Dominica Festivals took to Facebook and invited the citizens to the pageant to witness the authentic beauty of the country. The events will attract the audience across the globe and encourage other youth for developing leadership in them. The event will also provide the perfect platform for the young generation to showcase their talents, skills, and arts in different forms and functions.

The Junior Calypso Bouyon Competition is back! 15 students from primary and secondary schools island-wide will compete in the traditional Calypso and contemporary Bouyon genres for the crown.” Dominica Festivals asked the people to come and support the youth and culture this carnival season as they gear up for Mas An Lawi 2023.

  • 15 XCD for children
  • 25 XCD for adults
